Happy Homemaker and Hello Monday

 Happy Monday friends!

Last week was one of those weeks that will be one I remember as one of my favorites for the rest of my life.  My husband and I celebrated our 20 year wedding anniversary on June 25th!  We spent the day of our anniversary hanging out, shopping, looking at furniture and eating out.  We had the best day :)  Our children came home from the mountains on Sunday night and we left Monday morning for Atlantic Beach, just the two of us, while my Mom stayed home with the kids.  It was the BEST anniversary trip.  That was the same place we chose to go for our 10 year Anniversary, so that was super special!  I'll share some photos at the end of the post :)

We came home Thursday and Friday me and two of my kids went to Smithfield to finalize the decision about our new sectional.  I'm VERY happy with what we picked and it was worth all of  the decision making lol.  It will be delivered next week!  Which, I will be out of town for a Pastors Wives retreat, but I'll be excited to come home and see it!

I also did a LOT of decluttering the week before last, which deserves a post within itself :)  I have lots to share and lots to write about, but for now I'm going to stick to the topic :)  Happy Monday friends!  Linking up with Sandra from Diary of a Stay at Home Mom and Holly from Pink Lady .  Happy Monday!!!

*** The Weather ***

I'm just going to lead with this lol.
It has been insanely HOT.  Last week at the beach it was dreamy, for us at least.  The 80s are really comfortable when its in the high 90s, low 100s back at home.  We had a community event for the fourth of July last Friday and I really thought we were all going to cook.  It has been dreadfully hot.  All outdoor activities other than the pool have been postponed lol!

Thankfully, today it is 90, and its supposed to stay there and maybe a little lower for the rest of this week.  Thank the Lord!  We need some cooler temperatures, its been terrible!  We are hoping for some rain this week too, everything has been so dry!

*** Right now I am ***
Relaxing in between work lol.  I really want to get my rug and a couple of carpets cleaned this week especially with the delivery of our new sectional next week.  I'm re-doing my husbands office as well, so that will be exciting!

*** Thinking and pondering ***
So many things.  I have been back and forth with this blog so many times.  I did a lot of soul searching the week the kids were out of town and last week when Stephen and I were on our trip, there's just so much less to do when we are alone lol, but I made a decision that I just need to work on a habit of blogging!  I have a tendency to jump ship as soon as I feel like I don't want to blog anymore but then I always come back.  I do love it, and I do want to be a blogger, I just need to stick in there and be more consistent!

*** How I am feeling ***
Pretty good! Feeling energized after a week away, and excited on working on some home projects!

*** On the menu ***
I'm so ready to get back to meal planning. I've not been good at that at all lately. Tonight we are trying a pioneer woman cheeseburger sliders recipe, tomorrow is shrimp alfredo and my daughter is trying sushi since she got a sushi maker from her pampered chef party. From then, I haven't gotten that far yet lol!

*** What I am wearing ***
Denim shorts and a green tshirt to work around the house

*** On my reading pile ***
I did start a new beach book and I'm a little obsessed!

I had a short bout with Instagram during our trip and I saw an advertisement for a show called "Seeking Persephone." It intrigued me, but I like a good book more than a show so I looked it up and YES! It's a book! I started it at the beach and I'm already halfway through it, and I realized its a series so I'm super excited!

Seeking Persephone at Amazon It's such a good book! I can't recommend it more!

*** Looking around the house ***
I have been working hard on the house.  I have several projects, and as I mentioned, I decluttered quite a lot while the kids were out of town, so I'm ready to tackle so many projects lol.  It's a good time of year to do so since its so hot outside and the kids aren't in school.

*** To do list ***
Clean rugs and carpets
Rearrange the game room to make room for the loveseat to go in there
redecoate our bedroom
Redecorate my hubby's office
Dentist on Tuesday for the boys
Hair apointment for me on Wednesday
Hopefully squeeze in a beach day trip Thursday or Friday

*** From the camera ***

We had such a nice anniversary trip! My husband decided for my gift this year he would upgrade my wedding and engagement ring, and I am obsessed with my new rings. They are so beautiful!

Our favorite thing to do on vacation is eat seafood lol, we enjoyed some crab legs at the Crab's Claw, its an oceanfront restaurant we have visited for both of our anniversaries!

Atlantic beach is so gorgeous!  The water is so calm and warm compared to Nags Head where we usually go lol.  It's a Southern Outer banks beach, and a little closer to us as well.

We loved visiting Beaufort.  The NC Maritime Museum was so fun, and we were so surprised,
we visited this restaurant over ten years ago when our oldest daughter had her 14th birthday at the beach, and last time we visited the area it was closed.  We were so happy when we found the Queen Annes Revenge open again!  It was probably our favorite restaurant the whole time we were there!  It is waterfront near the docks, the weather was beautiful and the crab dip was divine!

We even found a fishing charter place with my name in it lol!

I sure love this man!

The fourth of July was HOT but our little hometown still did a fun job of celebrating!  I didn't take many pictures at all this year, I stayed in the tent most of the time with the fan, chatting with our church family lol, but my kids had fun!
